Fiction_L

Since I am going to become a librarian I joined a "Fiction List Serve" where libraries from all over America ask each other questions and help each other find books that their patrons want.

Every once in a while someone will ask for different types of titles that "take place in Texas" or any other type of theme. The other day I read a number of emails suggesting books that have " unique protagonists" and I think a librarian from Arkansas has pointed out the best book ever written. Check out this description,

"The REX series by Eric Garcia (the first is ANONYMOUS REX). The
protagonist is a tyrannosaurus rex disguised as a human working as a
private investigator."

Sorry T-Bone, I guess you're too late on this one.

You Cant Spell Dance without "DAN" - Eddie

This is for those who were either too "cool" or too "busy" to go to Tess' dance show. Tess' dance was pretty hilarious and probably the highlight. However you really missed out on the Extra Exclusive VIP After-Party. Some people were getting down like it was there job.

I am pretty sure that Marty was at home in his room doing this.

Vacation

My brother canceled our badass plans to go to Russia so now I have to figure out somewhere else to go in August. I have been trying to think of some place new to go. But I realized it may be more fun to go back somewhere I have already been too.

Somewhere that has so much love that you can read it in the streets.
Where the bright lights sweep you off your feet.

And where familiar faces hang around every corner.

Somewhere with fast women.
But also somewhere with a lot of comfort to go around.

Somewhere that is great for duets.

But also is good for flying solo.

It is also important that the people there find Marty as weird as I do.

Overall, a place that brings out the best in me.

What do you think?

Elephant Artist

This is to clear the air about whether or not that elephant on Marty's blog (April 8th, 2008) can paint. Turns out there is a website for elephant artist with biographies and everything. Here is some info about Jojo.

"Jojo is considered to be one of the top three elephant artists. Jojo’s works are very distinctive and they have sold at international auctions for thousands of dollars. Perhaps cognisant of his artistic status in the world, Jojo will decide for himself when his inspiration has died and in the middle of a painting will just turn around and walk off, no matter how much his mahout protests."

That paragraph makes about as much sense as anything I have ever read about any artist, human or not. I'm also pretty sure every "artist" that I know is jealous. Here's a picture to make it even worse.

I think I might buy a painting. 300 dollars is not so bad. Little known fact. The elephants also made the website.

Sonotheque

A couple of Kaisers rollin with the ladies.

Julian showed these girls things that they have never even heard of in the U.K. Or was it New Zealand? I couldnt really hear the girl because she was at least 4 feet taller than me. I am not even sure who that joke is making fun of. I am also not sure what was better; watching these dudes dance for hours or eating Whoppers back in the Sum with Julian.

Probably the whoppers.
